commentary posts from an article - Zaytun
Few weeks ago I saw a documentary about Zaytun on TV. It has been nearly two years since Korea dispatched troops to Iraq and in December we can withdraw our troop. I learned that Zaytun is stationed in Arbil, relatively safe area in Iraq. During the past two years, they built a lot of convenient facilities, taught civilians language, various kinds of technologies, gave medical treatment etc. for Iraqi. Civilians thank Zaytun for activities they have done for them. I felt really warm about relations between Zaytun and Iraqi. However I also felt sorry for soldiers who are staying in Arbil because they endure hot weather and dangerous surroundings. They haven't seen their family for two years and therefore one part of their heart would always be aching. I sincerely hope Zaytuns to return Korea this December and peace to Iraq as soon as possible. However this 'simple' hope is almost impossible since we are swayed by America all the time. To end this worse situation earlier and without much dispute, in my opinion, the nation should demonstrate our common idea in a peaceful way to express our opinions firmly to the whole world.
commentary posts from an article - Barack Obama
Barack Obama
It is a bit surprising for Americans to hear that it is almost certain that Barack Obama will run for the presidency because he is known as candidate with some negative flaws. First, he is young. He was born in 1961, when John Kennedy took office as president. As mentioned in The Economist, he lacks political experience, mostly towards foreign policy. It has been only two years since he was elected a Senator. This means that he has only two years of nation-wide political experience. However his supporters say that those short years and experience shows that he has a less stereotyped conception towards political issues compared to other members of the house and this characteristic will bring up some positive changes that those more experienced could not do. The second flaw could be his race. Unlike other candidates his heritage is mixed-his mother is white and his father is Kenyan. It is clear that he is in a superior position than any other candidate to get support from African-Americans. Nevertheless he has failed to gain their support. According to research conducted by the Washington Post and ABC, Hilary Clinton has three times more support than Obama. Experts find some reasons for his lack of popularity in his attitude - he presents his racial identity as 'black' but he acts as if he wants to get away from the limits of being 'black'. To make his dream become reality, he need to try to correct socially recognized faults and promote his merits wisely.
